Alison Ann Sweeney is an American actor, reality host director, and writer. Sweeney is well known for her role as Samantha Sami Brady on the NBC soap drama Days of Our Lives a role she played under contract on the show between January 6 and October 30th in 2014. In 1999, Sweeney was able to decide she had had enough. She stopped adhering to fads which included cabbage, grapefruit, and a variety of other diets. She made healthy lifestyle changes such as cutting out soda and sugar as well as joining boot camp type classes. The result? She lost nearly 30 pounds. Sweeney is from Ireland and has two brothers older than her. She was a student at UCLA and then left to work for the television show Days of Our Lives.
