Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor hailing from Bahrain's Manama was brought up in a multicultural family. Her father, Elroy Fernandez, is Sri Lankan. Her siblings include two brothers and one older sister. In the 80s, her parents emigrated to Bahrain in protest against the civil war in Sri Lanka. In the end, she was both born and raised in Bahrain. She received a scholarship to go to the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia, after completing her studies in Bahrain. In order to further her love of cultures, languages and other languages, she was enrolled at the Berlitz language schools where she was able to learn Spanish as well as improve French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006 and she was also crowned Miss Universe 2006 also. In 2006 she won she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. After that, she went into television to host a program on Sri Lankan business known as Lanka Business Report. Padukone's father is badminton-player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has had a childhood in Copenhagen and Bangalore. When she was a teenager, she played badminton in the national championships, but she ended her career in the sport to pursue a career as a model. Padukone has Mangalorean roots and speaks Konkani as her native language. Padukone is located within the Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi located in Karnataka State of India, is where her ancestry comes from. The father of her, Prakash Padukone, is an ex-badminton player with international repute, and her mother is a travel agent.
